TechXpla Interview with Sumit Saraf Founder JUSTAP Media
TechXpla met with JUSTAP Media Founder Sumit Saraf .JUSTAP is facilitating a new platform to the Indian Media industry, where companies can place their TV and digital content & campaigns to a unique set of people. They believe that their platform offers 100% customer engagement unlike the existing conventional ways of branding.
They have implemented a robust and multi-featured app in the 10.1” tablets which are fitted in the backside of headrest of the front seat. Its software platform will empower the engagement and entertainment for the passengers on-the-go. The brands can advertise on this platform to unique commuters. Currently they have joined hands with Key Cab aggregators (Uber, Ola) and radio taxis (TabCab, Carzonrent) to change the way people look at transportation.
They were also selected among awarded top 25 startups by World Startup Expo (#WSE) @SWC2017

TechXpla : Describe your startup business Model.
Sumit : JUSTAP is addressing unaddressed hyper critical issues where every day thousands and lakhs of people are otherwise wasting a decent 10% of their everyday “TIME”. We are Digitalizing India by adding In-cab digital services in organized Public transport sector. JUSTAP has joined hands with key aggregators and radio taxis to change the way people look at Indian Transport sector.
Our target consumers are the city & outstation travelers in organized cabs. Our customers are the advertisers, who want to place their brands in front of a unique set of consumers.
Hence, the primary revenue model is Advertisement and branding. Plus there are option for revenue share for the bookings & orders through the platform. With 300 screens, we create around 1.6 million ad slots of 10 seconds each day. Ad slots are proportionate to the number of screens.

TechXpla : How is your service different/better than Spotify on Uber & Ola play ?
Sumit: Ola Play is not an In-cab entertainment, it is only a car experience utility like AC control, volume control and sharing your phone with the device. Spotify is only a digital music content and it is on traveler’s device. Plus it’s not in India. JUSTAP is a complete In-cab entertainment and infotainment platform where the traveler doesn’t use any of its resources like Data packs, battery or device.
TechXpla : How does the passenger decide which music or movie or serial to choose? Where are these programs stored?
Sumit: In JUSTAP, every content is fetched from the web and nothing is pre-fed. One can search for any videos or music in JUSTAP ICE section and just play it. We are working-on to provide a personalized and customized info and content as per customer preferences. The system will get smarter with time.
TechXpla: What is unique about your startup? What is your USP
Sumit: Our platform is a win-win offering for all:

TechXpla: Please provide a brief background of the team
Sumit : We are an enthusiastic team of – techies, media sales, media veterans, ops and support. Along with the two founders, we have ad guru Prahlad Kakkar as our mentor. JUSTAP is lucky to have smart techies to work on the application & software,. Industry experienced people from media to drive business & generate revenue,. Operations team to do implementation and provide support.
TechXpla: Who are your current and likely competitors?
Sumit: JUSTAP, in-cab InCab Entertainment is the first of its kind in India now. As this is the right time and market, we may see new competitors to follow, but by then we should make a good market. Plus we believe that competitors always add advantage and make us proactive and think out of the box.
TechXpla: What is the current Traction ?
Sumit: We are present in 300 organized sector taxis and getting traction from 6000 unique customers everyday. Feedback from the customers, cab drivers and owners have been fabulous so far. Our team is working more to deliver more functionalities to the cab travelers.
TechXpla : What is your go-to-market/roll out strategy? What are your customer acquisition channels?
Sumit: We plan to hire a team of young, dynamic & veterans from media industry and work with clients, agencies and partners in parallel to generate revenue. We will also make use of technology where small businesses can come online and market themselves on our platform without involving third parties in between.
TechXpla : What is your competitive advantage/key differentiator/entry barrier?
Sumit: JUSTAP certainly enjoys the first mover advantage of In- cab entertainment in India. This being a very lucrative market, we are sure that competition will come along in the way. We hedge to build a robust tech platform to be progressive.

Right from the beginning of the career, with sharp entrepreneurial skills, Sumit established diversified business from the ground up.
